Andi and Miquita Oliver present European cheese favourites at Wilderness Festival live podcast
Andi and Miquita Oliver introduced Wilderness Festival goers to a selection of European cheeses, sharing culinary tips and insights during a live podcast with special guest Matt Tebbutt.
Andi and Miquita Oliver, renowned cheese enthusiasts, brought their passion for French cheeses to the Wilderness Festival, delighting attendees with a selection of their top fromage favourites. Joined by Matt Tebbutt, host of Saturday Kitchen, the trio explored six exquisite cheese varieties. Andi expressed her enthusiasm, saying, "I just adore cooking with cheese; from turning up the heat on my cheese toasty with a Tomme de Savoie to sharing my crowd-pleasing three-cheese leek bread & butter pudding โ Reblochon adds a whole new gooey dimension." Their exploration highlighted the incredible versatility of French cheeses.
At the festivalโs Atrium Stage, the fun live recording of their podcast, Stirring It Up, featured lively discussions with Matt Tebbutt. Attendees were invited to a metaphorical kitchen table filled with European and French cheeses, each offering a unique taste, texture, and aroma. The cheese board showcased classics like Tomme de Savoie, Comtรฉ, and Reblochon, alongside lesser-known varieties such as Brillat-Savarin, Fourme d'Ambert, and Pont l'รvรชque, offering a new appreciation for European cheeses.
Miquita Oliver reflected on the day, saying, "Wilderness โ what an idyllic site, like a beautiful English country garden. Today has been truly lovely. My new favourite cheese is a nutty Comtรฉ with fig chutney." Cheese expert Emma Young shared her knowledge as the mother-daughter duo enjoyed a tasting session with attendees in the Cheese Hub, providing valuable insights into the cheeses. Marie-Laure Martin, International Communications Director from CNIEL, summed it up: "We're thrilled to host this iconic podcast live from Wilderness, celebrating and promoting European and French cheeses in the UK." Having attended the live podcast and cheese tastings, we can confirm our firm favourite cheese was Fourme D'Ambert!
