This month in food
Lockdown 2.0 begins on Thursday, so you still have a couple of days to take advantage of your favourite restaurants. There is so much to choose from in our glorious city and here are some of our favourite locations for food this month. If you miss out on the chance to dine in, we will be keeping you up to date with which establishments will be offering takeaway and delivery throughout the lockdown.
Queens of Mayfair
This chic artisan coffee shop is located in Mayfair and was opened by sibling duo Victoria and Grace Sheppard. As the newest addition to London’s food scene, Queens of Mayfair serves up cosy homemade foods, for breakfast and lunch with dishes including smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, delicious vegan pancakes and a selection of soup and sandwiches. In the evenings you can join them for after-work drinks where you’ll enjoy a selection of botanical cocktails, English wines, champagnes and of course, cheese sharing boards.
Lately, Queens has received widespread media attention, including from Forbes magazine, for serving what has been described as “the most expensive cup of coffee in the UK” for £50 per cup. The Ethiopian “Cup of Excellence” Queens Coffee was purchased at auction by the company’s roaster, Difference Coffee Co. The rare beans cost approximately £2,000 per kilogram! But you’ll have to get in there quick, as there are only 15 servings available of the pricey brew.

The installation has been done by AHS Studios LTD.
And in the spirit of the festive season, the restaurant has been transformed into its own winter wonderland pegged ‘Miracle at 34’ a play on the famed Christmas movie Miracle on 34th Street. The restaurant interior has been covered in over 8,400 baubles! The décor was debuted last Christmas, however, thanks to covid-19 and the restaurant's closure we get to enjoy it once more.
