Sketch London unveils their annual Christmas installation for 2024: A Sweet Christmas

Mayfair’s iconic destination transforms into a festive wonderland celebrating the magic of holiday confections and cultural traditions.

This Christmas, Sketch, Mayfair’s iconic art and dining destination, unveils its enchanting annual installation, A Sweet Christmas. This year’s theme immerses visitors in the magical world of festive confections, inspired by the spices, cakes, and treats synonymous with Yuletide traditions. From the nostalgic imagery of Clement C. Moore’s Twas the Night Before Christmas to the ethereal Sugar Plum Fairy of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, the installation celebrates the cultural richness of the season. A harmonious blend of art, music, and design brings the sweet allure of Christmas to life.

In the Michelin-starred Lecture Room & Library, Mehbs Yaqub presents a crystal tree with a rotating window.

Artists, designers, and florists have transformed Sketch’s Grade II*-listed building into a holiday wonderland. Highlights include Jam Jar Flowers’ spellbinding reception display, featuring a swan beneath a twinkling canopy. In the Michelin-starred Lecture Room & Library, Mehbs Yaqub presents a crystal tree with a rotating window showcasing Nutcracker-inspired carvings by Hungarian artist Vanda Bahdszki. Lucy Vail Florists, making their debut in The Glade, enchant guests with a ceiling of trees with sugared fruits, inspired by Eugene Field’s whimsical poem, The Sugar Plum Tree.

Ricky Paul Flowers has created a huge gingerbread house on the East Bar dome.

The East Bar & Pods, decorated by Ricky Paul Flowers, continues the magic with a huge gingerbread house on the East Bar dome and dancing gingerbread figures in the iconic Pod Loos. Combined with sketch’s festive menus launching on 15th November, the installation offers an immersive celebration of Christmas cheer, transporting guests into a realm of sweetness, nostalgia, and wonder.
