In February 2025, Sadler’s Wells East will open its doors in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford, becoming a landmark addition to the UK’s cultural landscape. Purpose-built for dance, this innovative venue forms part of the East Bank, a major cultural and educational district. Its opening season will feature 20 dynamic productions, showcasing styles ranging from hip hop and bharatanatyam to ballet and vogue. The programme launches with Our Mighty Groove by Vicki Igbokwe-Ozoagu, an immersive celebration of the dance floor and community, performed by young east London dancers alongside Uchenna Dance.

The venue will include six state-of-the-art studios and two education facilities: Academy Breakin’ Convention, focusing on hip hop dance, and the Rose Choreographic School, which will nurture emerging talent. A standout feature is The Dance Floor, a public performance space that will provide community groups and guest artists a platform to showcase their work. The season will also feature Humanhood’s meditative Infinite, Mythili Prakash’s She’s Auspicious exploring femininity through bharatanatyam, and Emma Martin’s Birdboy, an imaginative journey into the mind of a misfit.

Sadler’s Wells East will be a dynamic new hub for dance, combining exceptional performances, educational programmes, and community engagement. Its cutting-edge design and varied offerings will create a vibrant space where local and international artists can collaborate, innovate, and inspire audiences in Stratford.
