Melek Zeynep Bulut’s Duo to debut at the Painted Hall following Festival postponement

Following its postponement during London Design Festival, Duo will be exhibited at the Painted Hall of the Old Royal Naval College from 28 October 2024.

Following a brief postponement, Duo, an installation by Turkish designer Melek Zeynep Bulut, is set to open at the Painted Hall of the Old Royal Naval College on 28 October, running until 3 November. Originally intended to debut during the London Design Festival, this work explores themes of duality and interaction, functioning as an artwork within an artwork. It challenges audiences to reflect on the interplay between contemporary creativity and historical context.

The Painted Hall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its Baroque ceiling murals, offers a striking backdrop for Duo. Despite its earlier delay due to technical challenges, the installation promises a compelling experience for design enthusiasts and history lovers alike. This exhibition highlights the dedication of both the London Design Festival and the Old Royal Naval College to preserving the site’s architectural legacy while embracing innovative artistic expression.
