Linder's journey to prominence began amidst the revolutionary punk and post-punk scenes of the late 1970s, where she made waves through her iconic album covers for Buzzcocks and Ludus. Her distinctive style, blending mundane imagery with provocative visuals from pornography, revolutionised the artistic landscape. The photomontage on Buzzcocks' single Orgasm Addict, created by Linder, remains an enduring emblem of the punk ethos, showcasing her unparalleled ability to merge rebellion with artistry.

Linder's artistic journey goes beyond her punk beginnings, branching out into various mediums like fashion, music, performance, and film. Throughout, she maintains a deep connection to cultural critique, using wit and satire to question stereotypes. Her work also explores the complexity of identity, drawing inspiration from various sources such as religious art, surrealism, mysticism, and social media. The upcoming retrospective will showcase Linder's influence on the art world and her dedication to expanding artistic expression.
This exhibition will be presented alongside Mickalene Thomas: All About Love.
