Birkenstock celebrates 250 years with exclusive photo exhibition

To mark its 250th anniversary, Birkenstock is hosting a unique photo exhibition and book launch in September at its creative hub, Birkenstock Studios. Offering exclusive insight into the brand’s rich history and cultural impact, it will feature never-before-seen archive materials from The Book of Birkenstock, including historic advertisements, original photos, and some of the brand’s most iconic campaigns.

The retrospective will also focus on the brand’s design heritage, showcasing an array of unique products and notable collaborations with designers like Rick Owens and Toogood, with particular emphasis on Birkenstock’s significant impact on subcultures and its inspirational role for designers and individuals worldwide.

Birkenstock is hosting a photo exhibition and book launch at Birkenstock Studios from 5 to 8 September 2024.

In addition, there will be an opportunity to preview Old Mills Never Die, a limited-edition photo book curated by Gerhard Steidl. The book features contributions from renowned photographers such as Henry Leutwyler, Werner Bartsch, and Juergen Teller, documenting Birkenstock’s legacy and production.
