Who are swingers?
Indoor social contact is back and what better way to celebrate than with a round of crazy golf at one of the most iconic spots in London? Located in the West End and The City, Swingers has quickly become a staple of London culture with its unique 1920s British seaside-inspired theme, bustling atmosphere and carefully crafted selection of cocktails.
Perfect for mates or dates, Swingers is a great way to reconnect with your friends (because eye contact can seem a bit intense right now) or to finally meet your Hinge interest in person, and with capacity for up to 600 people, you can say ‘goodbye’ to those Friday night Zoom quizzes with your colleagues and start puttin’ them through their paces on one of two courses at their City venue. (If you really want to get ahead of the game, Swingers also host corporate events including summer and Christmas parties which they’ll help you plan from start to last orders.)
With nine holes on each course to make you groan with frustration, you can take on the Big Wheel, filled with moving obstacles and tight corners – particularly tricky after a warm-up wine or two. Alternatively, to work out who the Tiger Woods of your group really is (though you can make sure it’s you by checking out the courses in more detail on their website here), whizz round the Helter Skelter course, designed to infuriate and put your swinging skills to the test.
Tired of teeing off? Indulge in a cocktail from one of the venue’s four bars. FLO recommends a Hot or Not (and yes, you have to have the house-infused chilli tequila to go with it). The venue also offers a Cocktail of the Month if the options are too overwhelming - which after months of living on your own freshly baked banana bread, we expect it will be. But if you can’t wait, caddies are located around the course to keep the drinks flowing and to offer you some golfing tips.
After a few rounds (at the bar or on the course), tuck into some street food with tasty tacos on offer by Breddos Tacos, delicious wood-fired pizza from Made of Dough or mouth-watering burgers at Patty and Bun. For those in a sulk about their under par performance, ice cream from Hackney Gelato is sure to be a mood changer.
If you’re looking to make a day of it, Swingers offer a range of deals including unlimited drinks for £65 per person which includes food, dessert, golf and even your own reserved area. We also recommend you check out the group packages if you’re friends have seriously followed through with their double date suggestion!
A bit unsure about venturing out? Swingers have taken steps to ensure the safety of their guests is a priority including implementing social distancing, sanitising golf putters and balls as well as introducing a web app to order food and drink. See the full list of measures here.
