Peckham Fringe returns in 2024 for its third year
Peckham Fringe announces exciting lineup for its third celebratory year in May 2024.
The anticipation is building as Peckham Fringe announces its unmissable highlights for the 2024 season. With over 20 vibrant productions showcasing the talent of local creatives from the London community, this year's festival marks a significant expansion beyond the confines of Theatre Peckham. Spearheaded by Theatre Peckham's Ambassadors, led by Artistic Director Suzann McLean, the festival promises a broad range of performances, including emerging writers, new musicals, spoken word, and clowning, all aiming to resonate with the voices and stories of the community.
The festival's lineup reflects a concerted effort to be representative and inclusive, with a significant focus on amplifying women writers, global majority voices, and neurodiverse narratives. From the opening act, Time Fly's, a nostalgic journey through nineties South East London, to the powerful drama of Run Black Girl Run, celebrating the resilience and spirit of a Nigerian girl, the programme is rich with stories that inspire, entertain, and provoke thought. Whether it's the immersive experience of Rain in the Serenade, exploring the complexities of modern-day dating, or the whimsical clowning of BANGTAIL, the Peckham Fringe will present an opportunity to discover new and emerging voices.
Featured productions like Mandem, which navigates the complexities of adulthood through friendship, and VEYIL, an innovative exploration of societal beauty standards and obsession, highlight the festival's commitment to pushing artistic boundaries and sparking meaningful conversations. Acclaimed works such as Last Goal Wins also address themes of diversity and inclusion in sports.
Peckham Fringe continues to cement its position as a platform for showcasing compelling stories and amplifying underrepresented voices, making it an essential event for both the local community and the wider London audience.
