Amsterdam: the café vs. the coffeshop
Amsterdam is home to the Café and the Coffeeshop, two very different things. A Café is home to great foods and drinks. A Coffeeshop is home to Marijuana, legalised in Amsterdam in 1980. Here are our favourite Café and Coffeeshop in Amsterdam.
Pluk Amsterdam
The Cafe
Pluk Amsterdam is a concept store/café with a very snug homelike feel, serving breakfast brunch, lunch and some very enticing treats. Spread over two floors with a small outdoor courtyard, the upstairs dining area overlooks the ground floor and offers a very tempting view of all the treats available.
With a delicious menu of PLUK breakfast classics, poke bowls, avocado burgers and a selection of classic egg dishes. Besides delicious dishes, you can also find some very cute home ware items on sale in-store.

Avocado toast served with cherry tomatoes, acai with fresh fruit and granola. This includes pressed juice of your choice.

A mix of banana, cocos and strawberry. Topped with granola, banana, coconut, flakes, mini cone and a flower.

#FLODOwn: Pluk is the perfect spot for a classic brunch, we always feel right at home tucking into their glorious pancakes dowsed in chocolate sauce and maple syrup. Truly yummy!
Their sister store Ree7 is located along the same street and is equally as enticing.

Grey Area
The Coffeeshop
Regarded as one of the best coffeeshops in Amsterdam they are considered cannabis connoisseurs. Grey Area has a very artistic and quite hard to miss storefront, and thanks to their high profile reputation you’ll often find quite a long queue outside! The Coffeeshop is notoriously small and cosy, but without a doubt stocked with the best products!
