The FLO London Story…
Serving Londoners since 2019
For the Love Of (FLO) London is the brainchild of Maawura Totoe, a civil engineer, flower enthusiast, and gin and tonic connoisseur (or so she likes to think).
FLO London is an online publication which seeks to highlight all of the great stuff going on in London through unique content on food and drink, culture, entertainment and arts, sustainability and travel. Plus, we have an online shop selling a range of lifestyle pieces.
Founded in 2019, FLO London was born out of Maawura’s desire to provide a platform for people to better understand the cool things people (particularly women) are doing in the city.
This of course meant simultaneously creating a space to showcase her other passions in life, including London markets, the rich and diverse food scene, and a love of weekend brunches. Thus, FLO London was born, an independent platform providing a voice for Londoners who are navigating working and living in the city, whilst encapsulating both the highs and the lows of London.
We want to continue to talk about the topics that most shy away from; whilst London can be glamorous, we promise to look deeper and provide social commentary pieces that ask the serious questions too.
MEET THE TEAM
The Shop
FLO London The Shop consists of a selection of homeware items and accessories made from Ghana wax print fabrics – including tote bags, placemats and scrunchies.
Founded by Maawura, a British-born Ghanaian, FLO London The Shop is a culmination and combination of Maawura’s love of the London lifestyle and the spirit of Ghana and its culture. Through merging these two passions, and indeed two facets of herself, she developed this curated collection of lifestyle products.
The first collection – titled Ahwenepa Nkasa x FLO London – offers a selection of classic, yet unique designs with some products also being reversible. These pieces have been designed with durability and sustainability close in mind; these will be items that you can use time and time again. Each subsequent collection will feature a different Ghanaian wax print fabric.

Lifestyle
FLO London provides a platform for Londoners to share their views. It is brought together by a team of working Londoners who present an authentic voice on the ins and outs of living in one of the most diverse cities in the world.
Food
Nora Ephron once said, “I have made a lot of mistakes falling in love, and regretted most of them, but never the potatoes that went with them.”
We couldn’t agree more. We are so fortunate to live in a city that offers a diverse selection of food, but it can sometimes be a bit overwhelming, but our regular #FLODown’s on all things food and drink in London are here to help. These provide numerous options on boozy brunches to fine dining, to where to find the best cocktails or that all-important morning coffee all catering to a range of budgets, locations and dietary restrictions.
But of course, food and drinks aren’t only enjoyed out. We also have a huge selection of recipes to suit all occasions or if you have found yourself stuck in a bit of a cooking rut.
Sustainability
To us, sustainability means working together to create a better environment in the small spaces that we occupy, as ultimately this can have a huge ripple effect on far-reaching places.
We regularly provide you with tips on how you can be more sustainable, share products and shops which promote these same sustainable ideals, as well as provoke open discussions and offer a platform for sharing sustainable stories. It’s all a learning curve, so why not learn from each other as we go.
Travel
We are strong advocates for stress relief through travel and exploration. We’ll give you travel guides for staycations in the English county to international retreats. We'll search high and low for the best in arts, culture and food so you can kick back and relax on your holidays…
Learning
FLO London is a place for education, learning and collective responsibility. We aim to inspire Londoners in a range of ways, including interviews with an array of professionals working in a variety of fields and industries in the FLO London Meets and In Conversation With… Series’.
