Where to get coffee shop discounts when you 'Bring Your Own Cup' (BYOC)

We all love a discount and even more so when we are doing a small part to help the environment. In the interest of cutting down on environmental pollution, coffee shops are incentivising customers to reduce the use of single-use coffee cups by offering great discounts when you BYOC.

 Why BYOC?

Most coffee shop cups are made from a mixture of paper and plastic. This plastic is designed to make the cups leak and heatproof. This mixture of paper and plastic makes recycling quite difficult. There are only a few specialist plants in the UK that can process them, therefore the majority of them do not get recycled (that’s about 99.75%).

So that you don’t miss out on any potential discounts here is a list of some of the coffee shops which offer discounts when you BYOC:

Caffe Nero: Double reward stamps towards a free coffee. (Once you get 9 stamps you get a coffee)

Costa: 25p off

Department of Coffee and Social Affairs : 10% off

Pret a Manger: 50p off

Starbucks: 25p off

PAUL: 25p off (50p if you use PAUL own brand recyclable cup)

Greggs: 20p off

Crosstown doughnuts:  20p off

Leon: 30p off

Pure: 25p off

Crussh: 25p off or people using a reusable cup on any hot drink, juice or smoothie.

Coco di Mama: 25p off

British Airways: 15p off

Waitrose: Free coffee or tea with a recycle cup and with a Waitrose loyalty card. (Sign up to my Waitrose loyalty card online).

Alternatively, drink your coffee at work or home, a cheap and cheerful option. Not all sustainable changes have to be expensive with these options you can save money and do your part for the environment.
