The Roundhouse is gearing up for its annual flagship event, Roundhouse Rising Festival, set to take place from October 2023. This year's festival promises to be a celebration of emerging talent, with a special collaboration with BBC Introducing Live.
Spotlighting Emerging Talent: Rising Presents x BBC Introducing (Oct 12 & 13)
The festival starts on 12 and 13 October showcasing emerging artists and Roundhouse resident artists. On 12 October, it features bassist Amy Gadiaga, singer-songwriter Naima Adams, and instrumental experimentalists Faker Villain. On 13 October, piano-playing singer-songwriter Hohnen Ford, distinctive-voiced Tendertwin from Istanbul, and London musician Gigi Williams will provide an eclectic musical experience.
Empowering aspiring artists: Roundhouse Rising Festival x BBC Introducing Live (Oct 14)
On 14 October Roundhouse Rising Festival delivers a daytime program of live panels designed to empower aspiring artists. The day will consist of various sessions hosted by notable figures in the music industry, including BBC presenters DJ Target, Jess Iszatt, Angelle Joseph, Jasmine Takhar, Abbie McCarthy, and Tom Robinson. These sessions will cover topics such as being an independent artist, the role of record labels, live performance strategies, songwriting, success stories, and achieving national recognition.
Evening performances: Rising Presents x BBC Introducing Live (Oct 14)
On the evening of 14 October, get ready for an unforgettable night! Artists performing on this night include Colectiva, an ensemble that explores the intersection of Afro-Latin music and jazz while promoting themes of sisterhood and female empowerment. London-based duo Wooze, with their infectious blend of electro-pop drawing from Italo disco, '80s new wave, and art-pop, will also grace the stage. More acts are yet to be announced.
