The Modern American Restaurant

Christopher’s

Image: @christopherswc2

#FLODown: Located in the heart of Covent Garden, Christopher's serves up the best of American dishes in a seriously decadent location. This Grade II listed building will only add to the indulgence  you will feel, especially when visiting for a brunch. From favourites such as buttermilk pancakes, brioche French toast with caramelised peaches or even truffle scrambled eggs you will probably find it quite hard to decide on what to order. Christopher’s also has a delightful selection of cocktails to wash down your food with, or if you’re feeling extra fancy you could indulge in a glass of champagne.

Their all-day menu is equally as delicious and pays homage to our stateside friends with lobster mac n cheese, crab cakes and beef tacos all featuring on the line up. Oh, and how could we forget the New York style cheesecake.

Opening hours:

Tuesday – Wednesday 11.30 am – Midnight

The Sicilian Trattoria

Circolo Popolare

#FLODown: Just a stone’s throw away from Oxford Street in trendy Fitzrovia, Circolo Popolare is the latest restaurant from the Big Mamma group – and it certainly lives up to the hype. If the flamboyant interiors won’t tempt you in, then delicious and reasonably priced food certainly should.

This Italian trattoria is decorated with a ceiling-to-wall display of thousands of vintage spirits, hanging wisteria and festoon lights. The menu features metre-long pizzas, scrumptious spaghetti and tantalizing tiramisu desserts. Plus, the carbonara that is served directly out of a wheel of cheese is a must-try…

This summer their terrace is now open so you can enjoy some socially distanced alfresco dining!

The vibrant cocktail lounge and restaurant

Little Bird Battersea

Image: MTotoe

#FLODown: Just a short walk from Clapham Junction Station sits Little Bird. This restaurant serves a range of Asian inspired foods and epic cocktails. Expect to find an array of small plates – perfect which for sharing – including spicy sea bass tacos, tuna sashimi with avocado, slow-cooked lamb, and salmon teriyaki. Plus, if you’re a big fan of the humble sweet potato fry then you will not be disappointed at Little Bird.

Restauranteur, Lorraine Angliss, founded the stylish and delicious restaurant and her quirky sense of style really shines through. There are gorgeous shabby-chic furnishings and the space is brimming with foliage, chandeliers, mismatched velvet furnishings and eccentric lampshades. At present, you can dine alfresco on their mini terrace and make the most of the last few weeks of summer.

Location:

1 Battersea Rise, London SW11 1HG

Opening hours:

Tuesday – Saturday from 5 pm

Sunday – Monday – Closed

The floral haven

La Goccia

Image: MTotoe

#FLODown:  La Goccia does not fall short from the expected exquisite interiors and beautiful blooms – which is not surprising as it was founded by the same people as Petersham Nurseries. This relaxing spot features a wood-fired oven and offers Italian ‘cicchetti’, which essentially means small plates.

Tucked away from the busy streets of Covent Garden, you can currently enjoy your food outside or in. Their garden features gigantic terracotta pots, stylish wrought iron furniture and lots of greenery. It is the perfect location for alfresco dining on a sunny day and be sure to enjoy a cocktail (or two)!

Location:

1 Floral Court, Covent Garden, London WC2E 9FB

Opening hours:

Wednesday – Sunday 11.30 am – 10.00 pm
