#FLODown: Pantechnicon

A new Nordic and Japanese creativity hub for food, drink and design has opened its doors in London. Pantechnicon was built in 1830 and was previously home to an arts and crafts centre. Seeing the building return to its previous creative roots is very fitting.

The Grade II listed building in the heart of Belgravia – on Motcomb Street – will consist of 5 storeys of  a creative and culinary experiences dedicated to Nordic and Japanese culture. It has been brought to London by the Cubbit House, which is a company well-known for its upmarket pubs and eateries all across Belgravia. This is a new edition to their portfolio but is staying true to their classy brand.

On the ground floor sits Café Kitsuné, from French fashion brand Maison Kitsuné, which will serve Japanese inspired breakfast, coffee, healthy lunches and a selection of Japanese inspired cocktails. With the last days of summer drawing near there is still time to enjoy a delicious cocktail on their street terrace!

Other restaurants on-site include Elder, a Nordic restaurant located on the second floor and Sachi, a Japanese restaurant featuring a menu curated by Japanese cookbook author Nancy Singleton Hachisu. Sachi will open on 5 October, alongside Sakaya, a boutique Japanese bottle shop and bar – an absolute haven for Japanese spirits and barware.

One of the main attractions for us is the roof garden bar, an elegant chic location reminiscent of a Nordic garden, which will be a very welcome addition to the London rooftop scene. Treat yourself to a cocktails or a tasty Nordic dish by chef Jonu Ketonen.
